Oh dear, our journey together started more than 3 long years ago. That’s when we received a report of a stray long-haired kitten in Narva who needed urgent help.

We took you into our care, you took to the streets, and one day this startled boy had become a truly magnificent and regal kitten who loved to play and be petted. We waited anxiously to meet your soul mate, because you were just… just magical!

Until suddenly the rug was pulled out from under us and we feared we would lose you forever. You suddenly became sad and withdrawn, and a visit to the vet revealed that you had FIP. After several months of long treatment at Catclinicus, you came back to us like a new boy. You fought and won! You had a new chance. A new chance to find a real home.

But this home did not come, and did not come, and did not come…

Some time ago Latte’s health deteriorated again. Various mouth problems, kidney failure. It was clear that he was not suited to the cat room environment and needed the warmth of home to get his health under control.

While we all lived with Latte, hoped and waited with him, he grew close to our hearts. But for one of us, Latte inexpressibly meant more. When Latte’s health took a turn for the worse, our lovely volunteer Susanna decided to open her home and her heart to him. And so, a few months ago, Latte wandered into Susanna’s shelter, but little did either of them know that Latte was actually going home… Home is where there is unconditional love and home warmth, after all. Home is a refuge. And that’s exactly what Latte’s “safe house” was for him.

Latte enjoyed sleeping on soft mattresses, sunbathing on window sills and socialising with other cats. His sparkling eyes and particularly fluffy coat were signs of his renewed zest for life.

But illnesses have a cunning plan… It’s been days since Latte’s condition deteriorated and yesterday the doctors gave up hope.

In the arms of his beloved friend, Latte left for eternity.
